EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATIONS
Mr. Brian Spelts has over 10 years of archaeological experience, including four years in professional cultural resource management. His work has included island, coastal, and inland prehistoric sites in southern California, prehistoric sites in northern California, and prehistoric and historic sites in Arizona.
He has worked as a project archaeologist and crew chief, and is skilled in the collection, processing, and analysis of GIS Data, including GPS field survey, data management/production, and map making. He also has a
comprehensive background in laboratory sorting, cataloging and analysis of
cultural materials from sites ranging in type from lithic-heavy inland
valley settlements to coastal shell middens.
Monitoring experience includes attending
safety instruction and pre-construction meetings, and monitoring of construction
grading activities for the Otay Mesa Gas Line Monitoring Project.
